About Kingdom Foundations

From village ministry to a question about lasting freedom.

Healing people who become people who heal.

Kingdom Foundations grew from more than twenty years of following God across nations, planting churches, raising a family, walking with people through healing and hardship, and asking how the freedom we encounter in God becomes something we learn to carry into everyday life.

OUR STORY →
The Beginning

Before there was a framework, there were villages, churches, and people.

The story of Kingdom Foundations reaches back to India. Ravi’s early years of ministry took him into villages across South India, where he preached, planted churches, trained leaders, and immersed himself in Scripture. During one year of village ministry alone, he read the Bible from cover to cover 32 times.

When Ravi and Julie married in 2004, Julie returned to India with him and they continued building a life in which family and ministry were closely intertwined. The work developed through church planting, caring for vulnerable children, equipping pastors, strengthening churches, and serving communities.

Those years also gave Ravi something that could not be learned from a classroom alone: the opportunity to watch what happened in people’s lives over time. He saw remarkable answers to prayer and physical healing. He also saw people return to everyday life, where fear, disappointment, relationships, expectations, and familiar responses still had to be faced.

Those years left Ravi with questions that would continue to shape his teaching long after the individual moments of ministry had passed.

India

A ministry rooted in people.

What began through village ministry and church planting grew into a much larger network of relationships and local ministry.

Over the years, the work expanded through local churches and relationships with pastors, families, children, and communities across India.

India remains part of the Kingdom Foundations story today. It is where many of the questions that continue to shape Ravi’s teaching were first tested in the realities of people’s lives.

Family

The ministry grew inside a family.

Ravi and Julie’s story in India was never simply a ministry story. The same years that were filled with churches, ministry, and travel were also filled with children, relationships, responsibility, and the ordinary work of building a home together.

Four biological children. Seven adopted children. And today, five grandchildren.

When Ravi and Julie married, Ravi had already welcomed seven children into his family. Julie stepped into that family alongside him, and together they later had four biological children. Through the years came marriages, new sons and daughters through marriage, and grandchildren.

Their home became one of the places where the values behind Kingdom Foundations were tested in their most practical form.

Eleven children make words like patience, forgiveness, responsibility, correction, belonging, and love considerably less theoretical.

Some of the most important lessons behind Kingdom Foundations were learned around tables, through difficult conversations, changing seasons, celebrations, disappointments, and the daily responsibility of loving people well.

The people behind the beginning.

Ravi Kandal

Ravi is a teacher, pastor, author, and founder of Kingdom Foundations. His ministry has moved from villages and church planting in India to training pastors, mentoring leaders, teaching internationally, and helping people understand healing, discernment, and spiritual formation.

His teaching often moves beyond asking only what happened to asking what an experience taught us to believe, expect, or do—and whether those responses still need to determine what happens next.

“Pain may explain why protection began. Grief may explain why protection continued. But neither pain nor grief was designed to become your guide.”

Ravi Kandal

Julie Kandal

Julie co-founded Kingdom Foundations with Ravi and has been part of the story from its early years in India. Her journey included entering another culture, becoming a mother within an already large family, and helping build a life in which home and ministry were rarely separate.

While Ravi’s ministry often placed him in public teaching and leadership, Julie helped hold together the life being built behind it. Raising a large family across cultures, welcoming people into their home, navigating the demands of ministry, and remaining present through years of change gave her a different but essential place in the Kingdom Foundations story.

A Wider Audience

Father of Lights

In 2012, Ravi was featured in Darren Wilson’s Father of Lights, guiding the filmmakers through India and into encounters that became some of the documentary’s memorable stories—including meetings with Hindu religious leaders and a feared local witch doctor. The film introduced an international audience to a part of Ravi’s ministry that had already been developing for years: listening for God’s direction and being willing to follow Him into places where the outcome was not predictable.

How The Teaching Developed

Why doesn’t breakthrough always become lasting change?

After years of watching people encounter God, Ravi became increasingly interested in what happened after breakthrough. Someone could sincerely love God, experience healing or a powerful encounter, and yet still find familiar patterns of fear, pain, protection, or expectation influencing the way they responded to life.

Ravi began looking more closely at the biblical language of maturity—and particularly at what Scripture says about training our senses.

“But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

HEBREWS 5:14 · NKJV
If our senses can be exercised, what have our experiences trained us to expect—and what becomes possible when those senses are trained by truth instead of fear?
Formation

Experience teaches.

Repeated experiences can influence what we expect, what receives our attention, and how we interpret what is happening around us.

Discernment

Our senses can be trained.

Biblical maturity involves learning to discern rather than automatically allowing an old fear, memory, or expectation to decide what something means.

Re-Formation

A different response becomes possible.

Through truth, wisdom, discernment, and partnership with God, we can practice a different response instead of allowing yesterday’s formation to dictate today’s expectation.

What was learned does not have to become identity.

What Has Not Changed

Jesus remains at the center.

Kingdom Foundations has developed practical language for understanding healing and the ways our experiences shape us, but a framework can never replace the presence of God.

We pray. We listen. We teach. We ask questions. We make room for the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus heals, and we believe people can learn to live differently because of the truth He reveals.

Understanding is valuable. Freedom is meant to be lived.

Leadership Today

Carrying the vision forward.

The Kingdom Foundations of today carries the history of what began in India while continuing to develop new ways for people to experience, understand, and carry what the ministry has learned.

Jackie Koller

Jackie’s ministry journey began years before her leadership role with Kingdom Foundations. After experiencing the Brownsville Revival, she trained with YWAM and served in missions in Australia and India.

She later worked with Randy Clark at Global Awakening, where her path connected with Ravi. What began as a ministry connection developed into years of working alongside him, helping translate teaching and revelation into practical environments where people could learn, experience healing, and grow.

Today Jackie serves as CEO of Kingdom Foundations and works closely with Ravi in the development and day-to-day carrying of the ministry—from Nurturing Wisdom and healing teaching to workshops, resources, communications, events, and international initiatives.

Her role is both organizational and ministerial: helping take what is being learned and build the structures through which it can be taught, practiced, and carried to others.
