Remember His Wonders

Free 7-Day Guided Journal

What If Your Pain Has a Better Memory Than You Do?

You may understand the truth. You may have prayed, forgiven, received treatment and worked hard to move forward. Yet your body can still respond as though yesterday is about to happen again.

Repeated experiences create evidence, and over time that evidence can begin shaping what we expect. Pain can develop its own testimony: “This always hurts. My body cannot do that. Tomorrow will probably feel like today.”

But your pain is not the only testimony you have.

“They forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them.”

Why Testimony Matters

Your Pain Has Evidence. God Has Evidence Too.

Have you ever noticed that your body can respond to something before it has even happened?

You look at the stairs and already anticipate what your knee will feel like. You begin bending and brace your back before you have finished the movement. You wake up and immediately begin wondering how your body will feel today.

That is because we learn from experience. When something happens repeatedly, we do not approach every new moment as though it were the first. We bring yesterday with us.

This does not mean your pain is imaginary, and it does not mean every chronic condition is caused by expectation. It means repeated experiences can shape what we notice, what we anticipate and how we prepare to respond.

What happens when yesterday begins predicting tomorrow?

The purpose of testimony is not to deny what happened. It is to keep yesterday from becoming the only evidence you use to interpret what is possible today.

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly told His people to remember what He had done. His testimonies gave them evidence of His character when their present circumstances seemed to be telling a very different story.

When we remember the works of God, we are not merely remembering a miracle. We are remembering something about who He is: His compassion, His faithfulness, His authority, His goodness and His willingness to move toward people who are suffering.

Inside the Journal

One Symptom. One Testimony. Seven Days.

Remember His Wonders helps you move beyond simply understanding testimony and begin practicing intentional remembrance.

1

Recognize the Old Prediction

Identify what repeated pain or previous experience has taught you to expect before the next moment even happens.

2

Choose a Biblical Testimony

Use the included Testimony Directory to find a Scripture that connects with the symptom or experience you are exploring.

3

Discover God’s Character

Look beyond the miracle itself and ask what the story reveals about the true nature and character of God.

We’ve Included a Testimony Directory

You do not have to figure out which Scripture to use on your own. The journal includes a directory of biblical testimonies selected for more than 30 pain, chronic illness and related symptoms.

Find the condition or symptom that most closely represents what you are experiencing, read the suggested biblical story, and use that testimony as the starting point for your seven-day practice.

The biblical story is not a medical equivalent of your condition or a guarantee that your experience will unfold in exactly the same way. It gives you a place to begin remembering who God has revealed Himself to be.

The Seven-Day Practice

What Will You Actually Do?

You will begin with one specific symptom and notice what repeated experience has taught you to expect. Then you will choose a biblical testimony, read the complete story and close your Bible.

Without worrying about remembering every detail perfectly, you will retell the story in your own words. This is not a Bible memory test. You are practicing retrieval. You are intentionally bringing the works of God back into active remembrance.

Then you will ask a deeper question: What does this testimony reveal about God?

From there, the journal helps you recognize the prediction your previous experiences may have created and consider what different possibility you can make room for because of what you are now remembering about God.

You will stay with the same symptom and testimony for seven days, allowing the story to become familiar enough that God’s character begins entering the very place where yesterday has been predicting tomorrow.

This Is Not Positive Thinking.

You are not trying to convince yourself that your pain is not real. You are learning to recognize when previous experience has become the only evidence informing what you expect next.

“Yesterday gives you evidence of what happened. Testimony gives you evidence of who God is.”
